Welshpool Medical Centre are doing a great job under pressure, so have had to change the way they supply prescriptions to Meifod and Pontrobert. As you may know they are no longer able to make the usual deliveries to local communities and currently with the extra volume of work would not be able to make up the boxes for someone to collect.
Patients requiring repeat medication will now need to follow these steps:
- Ring the dedicated dispensary number for Welshpool – 01938 557600 and follow the instructions for leaving your order
- Medication should be ready for collection in 72 hours; 3 days, so if ordered on Monday it should be ready on Thursday
- If you are able to collect your medication you can go to the centre to collect, following the notices there for where to go
- If you are unable to collect a named volunteer has been authorised with the centre to collect on your behalf. In order to do this you will need to request this from the Meifod Coronavirus Community Help Group and give your details; name, date of birth and address as our volunteers have to give this for each person they are collecting for. You need to give permission for the group to have this information. Contact Rev Jane James on 01938 500231 if you need this help
- It would be helpful if you could order on Monday, if possible, so all medication to be collected can be collected together on Thursday, cutting down the amount of visits to the Medical Centre to help with their workload and protection. You will need to phone Rev Jane James by 3pm on Wednesday for it to be collected for you the next day
- If you are able to leave your home you can collect your medication from Rev Jane James at The Vicarage or the shop, if this does not overload what they are already doing
- If you are unable to leave your home the group will deliver your medication to your doorstep. Please tell us whether you need a home delivery when you request the volunteer to collect for you.
